Specialty Plant Nutrition
We deliver specialized nutritional solutions for fertigation, soil and foliar uses, which, together with the knowledge of an agronomic technical team, provide macro and microelements necessary to increase the profitability of agricultural businesses and their crops. We are worldwide leaders in the manufacturing of potassium nitrates of natural origin, free of chlorine and 100% soluble, which allows a rational use of water in crops when applied through irrigation, increasing quality and higher crop yields.
Iodine and Iodine Derivatives
Worldwide, we are the leading manufacturer of iodine, since the world’s largest reserves of “Caliche” (the mineral from which iodine is produced) are located in Northern Chile. Iodine and its derivatives are used in a wide range of medical, agricultural and industrial applications, as well as in human and animal nutritional products.
Through a joint venture with Ajay Chemicals, we produce organic and inorganic iodine derivatives. We are also present in the iodine recycling business in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Potassium
Potassium allows crops to be more resistant to drought, and produces healthier fruits and vegetables with a longer shelf life. The main sources of potassium on the market for use in fertilizers are Potassium Chloride KCI, Potassium Sulfate K2SO4 and Potassium Nitrate KNO3. Potassium Chloride is the most important of all three sources worldwide, and we are the only company that produces all three potassium sources, as well.
It should be noted that potassium deficiency in plants can cause abnormalities, and affects CO2 absorption. Additionally, potassium plays an important role in water regulation in plants, both in absorption via roots and in its loss through stomata. Good potassium levels improve plant resistance to water stress.
Industrial Chemicals
We have been in the industrial chemical business, producing and commercializing 100% natural nitrates for more than 30 years. These are used as raw materials in a large number of industrial production processes. Highly refined nitrates are the basis for a variety of applications; from glass manufacturing and metal treatment, to recycling and even explosives for civil engineering works. We have proven experience in the production and commercialization of nitrates, Potassium Chloride, Boric Acid and Magnesium Chloride.
