Board of Directors

Chairman of the Board of Directors of SQM S.A. and member of the Safety, Health and Environment Committee. Mr. Guerrero Yamamoto is a lawyer from Universidad de Chile and MBL from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez. He was a prosecutor and alternate director of Integramedica S.A. for more than 7 years, as well as director of Inversiones Oro Blanco S.A., Asfaltos Chilenos S.A., VNT S.A. (Vantrust Capital Asset Management), Club Palestino SADP and SMA Clinica Internacional S.A. (Peru), among others. In addition, he is currently the chairman of the Board of Sanasalud S.A., chairman of the Board of SQM Salar S.A., CEO at SONAMI, chairman of the Foundation for social and patrimonial development of Maria Elena, director of ICARE and elective member of the Board of SOFOFA.

As part of the Corporate Governance Committee and also of the Security, Health and Environment Committee, he acts as an Independent Director under the requirements of the New York Stock Exchange. Mr Contesse is a lawyer who graduated from Pontificia, the Catholic University of Chile. From 2013 to 2015 he was a member of the Board of Directors of SQM SA. Since 2011 he has worked as a Senior Executive in Grupo Pampa where he is also Vice President of the Board of Directors. .

Hernan is a member of the Corporate Governance Committee. He is an Independent Director under the requirements of the New York Stock Exchange. Graduated as a Civil Engineer in the University of Chile, he was part of the SQM SA Board of Directors several years until April 2016 but then resumed his position in 2017. At present he is part of the Board of Directors of Quinenco SA and S.A.C.I Falabella, among others. He is as well the President of the Executive Board of the University of Development.

Member of the Directors’ Committee. He is an independent director under the requirements of the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Ashley Luke Ozols holds a degree in commerce from the University of New South Wales Sydney and is also a CFA charter holder. Mr. Ozols is of Australian nationality and has extensive international business experience, specializing in providing strategic advice and financial solutions to clients in the U.S., Australia and Asia. He was, previously, a senior employee at Tianqi Lithium with a focus on corporate development and spent fifteen years in the banking investment market with Macquarie Group, Grant Samuel and CLSA.

Member of the Directors’ Committee. Mr. Gil Nievas is an independent director under the Chilean Corporations Law and under the requirements of the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Gil Nievas holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from ICAI (Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Spain) and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (institution where he obtained his MBA) and Stanford University (institution where he completed the Standford Executive Program). He has more than 25 years of experience in strategic leadership, management, financial and investment positions at a global level, including Europe and Latin America. He is currently a strategic and financial advisor to several national and international companies. Previously, he was CEO at Moneda Asset Management, Vice President of ACAFI, Management Director, worldwide CFO and member of the global executive committees of several businesses at JPMorgan and was a strategic consultant for BCG in Spain.

Member of the Directors’ Committee. Independent member in accordance with the Chilean Corporations Law and under the requirements of the New York Stock Exchange. Ms. Ocqueteau is a nurse from Universidad de Chile with a master’s degree in Commercial Management and Marketing from ESEM, Escuela de Negocios, Sede Madrid; a diploma in Corporate Governance from Escuela de Economia y Negocios from Universidad de Chile; a diploma in Marketing from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez; and a diploma in Productivity and Quality from Universidad Catolica. She has been an advisor to Chile Mujeres since 2019 and was a member of the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity in 2021. She is currently the director of the Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce, general manager of Waygroup Chile, founding partner of Crosscheck, advisor for Genesis Latam Consulting and consultant for Fundacion Nacional ORP. Previously, she was also director of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, ASECH, and has held senior positions within ACHS.

Member of the Safety, Health and Environmental Committee. He is an independent director under the requirements of the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Antonio Schneider holds a Ph.D. from The New School, New York and is a graduate of Economics from Universidad de Chile. He was a Professor at Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, UAM, Mexico D.F. Mr. Schneider is of Chilean nationality, and has worked in the Advisory Office of the Presidency in Mexico for Food Systems and Technologies until 1982. Since then, he has worked in Chile in many industries such as: cosmetics, forestry products, salmon and food crops, fruit exports, and food products. He has associated with financial and banking representations, mainly in Larrain Vial S.A., in international businesses, mining and its development as a national investment bank. He is a partner and director in Telecom and Wi-Fi Systems at Transam Will. He has been the director of InvertecFoods, Pesquera Yadran, ChileFoods, Indura Peru, Salmonfood, BancoEstado and currently of companies in Chile and Peru in DDPacifico, Electra Santa Rosa. He has also published several publications and books on Economics and Pricing.

Mr. Xu received a J.D. degree from the Universita degli studi di Roma Tor Vergata, Italy. He studied at the Centro di Studi Giuridici Latinoamericani of the Universita. He also holds a Certificate of Legal Qualifications from P.R. China. He is currently an Associate Professor at Sichuan University, China, specializing in Civil and Commercial Law.
